Over the years, Dr. Hopkins has perfected the artistry of bondings and fillings with composite material. Using special techniques, Dr. Hopkins can restore a tooth with a cavity nearly back to its original physical integrity.
Dr. Hopkins uses tooth-colored composite filling, made from a mixture of plastic and glass, to restore decayed teeth. He also can use this material to reshape a disfigured tooth, match the color of the original tooth, or even change the color of a stained tooth.
After he prepares the tooth, Dr. Hopkins places the composite material in layers, hardening each layer with a special light. Once he has finished applying the layers, he artistically shapes the composite to fit the tooth, and then he polishes the composite to prevent staining and early wear. The final result is a strong tooth that is less likely to break or to suffer from excessive temperature changes.
